January Month(2016) General Awareness Part-3

1. India and France have signed 14 pacts for enchancing bilateral cooperation in various fields including defence, railways, space, education etc after extensive discussions between Prime Minster Narendra Modi and France president Francois Hollande.

2. Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan has launched Sahaj Scheme for online booking of   LPG Cylinders as part of Government’s 2016 Year of Consumer initiative. Consumers can book LPG cylinders through online  web portal www.mylpg.in which will be available in 13 languages.

3. Indian highest peacetime gallantry award Ashok Chakra is awarded to Lance Naik Mohan Nath Goswami(posthumous)

4. Legendary Malayalam Actress Kalpana Ranjani(51) passed away in Hyderabad due to heart attack.She has acted various South Indian films.

5. Election Commission of India(ECI) celebrated 6^thNational Voter’s Day across country with a theme of Inclusive and Qualitative Participation  on January 25^th.

 6. First Ministerial Meeting of Arab-India Cooperation forum was held in Manama, Capital city of Bahrain.

7. Indian ace Badminton player PV Sindhu has won the 2016 Malaysia Master Grand Prix Gold Badminton title. In the final match she has defeated Kirsty Gilmour(Scotland) . This is her 2^nd  Malaysia Grand Prix  title which she had also won in 2013

8. Eminent Table player Pandit Shankar Ghoshed (80) has passed away on January 25^th in Kolkata, West Bengal. In 2000 he has been awarded with prestigious Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. He also received ITC Sangeet Research Academy award & Ustad Hafiz Ali Khan Award.

9. First  solar power operated Mini Water supply plant has started in Maharashtra  which is located  in Hingna village of Mouda Taluka in Nagpur District . With this villages will get pure water supply at very low cost .

10. Zika Virus creates panic over thousands of birth defects in Latin American Countries. Zika virus is  mosquito borne transmitted by Aedes Aegypti mosquitos.  Pregnant women are warned not to travel to these countries. Infected Babies are reportedly born with abnormally smaller heads which can cause brain damage(Mircrocephaly)
