    India - Morocco
    Indi a - Morocco  Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IMCCI)  has been launched  in Morocco Capital Rabat to boost trade and economic development cooperation between two countries. This was organized when vice president Hmid Ansari first visit to Morocco.

    A MoU on Cooperation in  conservation of wild life  and combating wildlife trafficking  has been approved between India and USA.  By this MoU, India will receive guidance from US in field of  wildlife conservation, combating trafficking and management of wild life areas.

    Monaco Grand Prix
    Lewis Hamilton has won Monaco Grand Prix 2016 title  held at Circuite de Monaco. Lewis Hamilton is a Great Britain player  who races for Mercedes.  2nd position is won by Daniel Ricciardo of Australia who drives Red Bull formula one car.

    AIBA World Championship

    Sonia Lather , Indian women boxing player has won Silver medal in AIBA Women’s World Championship held in Kazakhstan  by defeating Mesiano Alessia of Italy by 2-1 in the 57 kg category.

    BCCI  new CEO

    Rahul Johri has been appointed as CEO of Board for Cricket Control in India (BCCI) and will report to BCCI Secretary Ajay Shirke .  This CEO post is the first in BCCI history and is newly created based on recommendation by Justice RM Lodha committee.

    Bhim Sain Bassi, former Delhi Commissioner  is appointed as  Member of UPSC  accoriding to article no 316 of Indian constitution for next 6 years by president Pranab Mukherjee.

    Navy Chief
    Sunil Lamba is appointed as 23rd Chief of Naval staff succeeding Admiral Robin k.Dhowan  and  tenure of this post is 3 years ( Till May 31 -2019).Earlier Lamba was working as Flag officer in Chief of Western Naval Command.

    Important Days
    May 31 has been observed as “ World No-Tobacco Day”  to create awareness on health risks associated with smoking and other form of tobacco usage and consumption.  The theme for the 2016 world No-Tobacco Day is “ Get ready for plain Packaging” . According to WHO , 60 lakhs people die due to tobacco consumption.

    Fukuoka Prize 2016
    A R Rahaman, Oscar winning music director is  awarded “Fukuoka Prize 2016”  in Grand prize category for his contribution to South Asian traditional music.  Fukuoka prize is awarded in 3 categories, a) Grand Prize b)  Academic prize and c) Arts and culture . Yasmeen  Lari from Our neighbor country Pakistan has won this prize in  Arts and Culture category.

    The retirement age for Central as well as State Government doctors in India has been extended to 65 years by ministry of Health and Family Welfare .  

    Deaths
    D Javare Gowda (101), famous kannada Writer and language activist  has  passed away in Karnataka. His autobiography name is ”Sahithi Sangadalli horatada Baduku”  and he has won Padma shri in 2001 , Pampa Prishathi in 1998 and many more.  D Javare Gowda also served as Vice Chancellor of University of Mysuru from 1969 to 1975.
