→ In seating arrangement , especially circular seating arrangement, it is very important to know the directions . To make it simple for every one here is an explanation
- Right know you are reading this now on a computer in front of you. This front direction is North side.
- Stretch your right hand towards right, this direction on your right hand is East
- Stretch your left hand towards left , this direction on your left hand is West.
- Your back side direction is South.
→ Like that, whenever you read a question on seating arrangement, assume yourself seating in that place and guess the direction.
Look at this image and imagine yourself seating in the middle .
→ In questions if it is given that M is second left of N . First take random position as N and towards left hand side of N count two positions and label it as M.
Steps wise explanation on how to solve with Example :
Question: A,B,C,D,E,F,G and H are sitting around a circle facing at the center. B is second to the right of H and third to the left of A. D is not an immediate neighbor of either B or H and is second to the right of F. C is fourth to the right of G.
→ A is third to left of B statement also means that B is third right of A.
Solution:
Step 1: Assume A to H are 8 persons sitting around a circle. So draw a circle and 8 lines to represent 8 persons and as they are facing center draw arrows inside .
Step 2: As given in question B is second right of H and third left of A . First label random position as H. and imagine yourself sitting in H position facing towards center of table. Now towards your right hand side count two positions and label it as B .
→ As B is also third left of A which means A is third right of B ( From above given points )
Step 3:
→ Next D is not an immediate neighbor of either B or H and and is second right of F. Which means D will not sit beside B or H. So D should sit besides A only . And as D is second right of F first label F first toward's A left and D will be second right of F.
Step 4 : Last C is fourth right of G. look at which place G should sit so that C will be on 4th right side. and remaining 1 position will be of E which is as given in question
That's it friends. It is very easy to score 5 marks in reasoning for sure once you get this seating circle right. Watch the video below on above same problem to understand more accurately.
