    English Vocabulary - February 27

                                                "Practice Makes Man Perfect"

     Cricket fans from both India and Pakistan and around the world will be treated to a nail-biting encounter when Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Team India face off against their arch rivals Pakistan, here at the Shere Bangla National stadium today. Keeping in mind the bitter sweet rivalry and prolonging political tension between both nations, a lot of emotions ride on this game.

    India versus Pakistan matches have always been witness to packed stadiums and an increase in TRPs. Social media was at war ahead of the match with hash tag #IndvsPak trending on Twitter right from early Saturday morning.

    nail biting = causing great anxiety or tension
    face off= a situation where two players compete to win a sporting contest
    rivals= a person or thing competing with another for the same objective
    arch rivals= the chief rival of a person or team
    bittersweet = arousing pleasure tinged with sadness or pain.
    prolonging = extending the duration of
    witness = a person who sees an event
    trending = change or develop in a general direction
